Grati-Tuesday

What small thing that you use daily are you grateful for?

When I think about things that I use every day I think of my daily rituals of getting up, or getting ready for bed. So that made me realize that I am SO grateful for my toothbrush and contacts.

Aren’t contacts the GREATEST invention of all time? The people I see throughout the day don’t even have a clue that I’m wearing them! I got contacts my freshman year of high school, and I had no idea what I was missing out on until I could see the details in people’s faces or that white mass called a volleyball flying at my head during practice.

I had just dealt with everything being blurry because I refused to wear glasses. Even now, I take such good care of my contacts that I never get an eye infection because I still dread wearing my glasses. Of course, my sister-in-law is an optometrist, and she’s moving where we live, so I’m really crossing my fingers that she’ll find me some glasses that I don’t look completely embarrassing in (because having a baby might make it a little bit harder to keep the eye germs at bay).

I’m also a little bit of a freak when it comes to brushing my teeth. I think I ask Dallas once a day if he’s brushed his teeth, and I’m grateful that after 4 years of that he hasn’t lost it from me asking so much.

I think I’ve always been this way, but when I was younger I would get so mad when we would go to the dentist and I would have cavities and my sister wouldn’t, and I’m pretty sure there were times when she would skip brushing her teeth. So there’s that. But thankfully with my crazy obsession I haven’t had a cavity in years. 🙂

So those are the two small things that I’m grateful for. What about you? What are you grateful for today?

  1. I am grateful for electricity. I really take for granted the fact that anytime I flip a switch or plug something in it is just going to turn on. I can’t even imagine what life would be like without electricity! Everything would be so much harder and more complicated.

    1. This is such a good one, Sky! Same with water too. I just turn the faucet and expect water to come out. We are so lucky to live in a time when we have electricity and plumbing.
